An original watercolor painting of a unique orchid. Every year the Denver Botanical Garden puts on an Orchid Showcase, my favorite event of the year. Taking place in January-February this event quickly became my favorite place to hang out and hide from the cold. I would sit in the warm orchid rooms and paint each one on snowy days, imagining I was somewhere warmer much like where these orchids grow.
This painting is 8x10 inches in a wooden frame. The type of orchid painted here is called “Howard’s Dream”, although it reminded me much of Harold and the Purple Crayon once I learned its name.
